Lives
The Salvation Army is known for successfully serving hundreds throughout
Wayne County-people are the cornerstones of their mission.
Our programs include social services, medical aid and emergency shelter to
help families rebuild their lives.

- The Salvation Army’s Medical Aid program provided 80% of its clients
life sustaining medication for citizens of Wayne County.
- The Salvation Army assisted 1,108 families during Christmas.
- 100% of clients received medication assistance.
- 86% (323) of homeless persons received 18,130 hot nutritional meals 5,779
nights of safe clean lodgings, and hygiene kits (toothpaste, toothbrush,
lotion, deodorant, etc.) through the Emergency Shelter program.
- The Emergency Shelter provided 17 residents with Social Security cards,
while 18% (25) of the residents found jobs, and were able to maintain them
for 2-3 months.
- All 323 residents in the Emergency Shelter program received counseling for
job preparation and budget counseling, that addressed banking needs, and
establishment of a grounded spiritual base from which the individual will
socialize successfully in society.
