United Way is local and results-driven. We set high standards of program effectiveness and accountability. Through a review process, dedicated Wayne County volunteers analyze funding requests, monitor program outcomes, and make funding recommendations to the UWWC Board of Directors for approval.

The number of individuals we serve is important, but how each individual life is improved is what truly matters.

United Way is efficient. Based on our 2007 audit, 86% of expenses provide for local programs and UWWC supportive services with only 14% of expenses being used for administrative and fundraising costs.
